Room For Six Or More!

Our new dining table arrived today! We can fit six people (that means 4 kids... yikes!) around our table now. And if we we pull out the folding chairs we can fit even more! We had a great first dinner... chicken n dumplings, salad, and great conversation. It is neat to think that this will be the table that our family eats dinner around every night. I am glad that we decided to make this purchase as we are starting to grow our family.

Here I am in front of the table set for our first dinner.
This picture also shows my expanding belly from the front.

I could not get this picture to rotate, but you can see the "mission" style inlay that runs around the edge of the table and the leaf.

Don't worry... we are not getting rid of Grandmother's wagon wheel table. It will be my new desk! Now I will be able to leave my large architectural drawings out during supper time!

On my way way to work...

Yesterday, I saw the neatest thing on my way to work. I was driving down River Road and saw tons of stopped traffic ahead of me. "Great" I thought... "Now I am going to be late for work, and I am sooo close to the office." Well, there were two 18-wheelers taking up two of the three lanes of the road, so cars were having to take turns  using the one open lane to get to and from Main Street. Also, everyone had to slow way down and look at what was going on. Well, when I got to the trucks I saw why everybody was going so slow. The Phantom of the Opera set was being loaded into the trucks! Right there next to me was the chandelier! What a neat thing to see first thing in the morning! Oh, and I still got to work on time.

Ultrasound Day

I got some great news today! We get to have our ultrasound next Tuesday instead of next Friday! Jonathan got a letter this weekend that said he had to be at a mandatory orientation meeting for the Jefferson County Public School substitute teachers at the exact time of our doctors appointment. He may not take the job of sub, but this was the perfect excuse to get our ultrasound a little bit earlier. So I called the office this morning and was able to move our appointment up to next Tuesday at 3:00! Let the countdown begin!

20 Weeks!

Well, we are half way to the big baby day! I am not sure exactly how far I am . The doctor says that based on the size of the baby I am a little farther than they originally thought, but either way, by now I am sure that I am 20 weeks along. Wow! I thought I should post a picture of my expanding bump since it has been a while since i gave y'all a side profile image. Our next ultrasound is scheduled for Friday Feb. 8th, so I will have new pictures of our little buckaroo then. Hopefully we will know whether or not we are having a boy or girl. It is a little bitter-sweet honestly to find out what we are having. I know it sounds kinda crazy, but it will be just a little sad to only be able to think of girl/boy names and only picture myself as a mom to a little girl/boy. However, I know that it will be great to finally be able to actually purchase an item in either pink or blue and actually decide on bedding and..... the hardest decision of all... the name. So we only have two more weeks to debate the sex of the baby. I still think that it will be a boy. My dad thinks that it is a girl (he was right about both my sister and me). Jonathan thinks that it is girl. The prospect of having a daughter is a bit daunting to him, but I know that he will do great with either a boy or girl. I think everyone on Jonathan's side of the family is too smart to say one way or the other. They have had six boys in a row,  so you would think that the next kiddo would have to be a girl. Then again, maybe there is some biological reason for the large number of Nida boys. Well, I guess (and hope) that we will find out on Feb. 8th!

Snow, a Birthday, and Christmas

Well, I am already slacking at this blogging thing.
I will try to catch you up on what has been going on...

There was snow on the ground this morning!
This is the most we have had so far.

Here is a view of our street.

Apparently bunnies still get out and about in the cold.

Here is what Main street looks like.

I work in the building immediately to the right in the picture.

Jonathan had a birthday. We are now both 26 years old!

I tried to make him a Saints cake... it was not as good as the LA Tech cake I made for Andrew.

We went to my parents new house for Christmas. This picture was taken at White Rock overlooking the Ozarks. We look so cold because there was a snow storm heading our way!

My parents waited until Jonathan and I arrived to decorate the tree! It was so good to have Christmas with my family again this year!

We went to Grandmother's for Christmas lunch.

(Jonathan is not in the pic because he is the photographer)

Later Christmas night we had dinner at my parents house.... Yummy!

We were even able to squeeze in a brief trip to Springhill and celebrate with Jonathan's family!

What can I say... it has been an eventful month. Maggie was plum-tuckered-out by the time we got home. Here she is sleeping with her Christmas present!
