October

So I missed blogging in the month of October. What can I say... 2 kids is way harder than 1. But we are all still here and I have been taking pictures, so here is a quick update in pictures.

And the rash that is on Graces face for most of the pictures... that would be from her Scarlet Fever. At least that's what the doctor said. What can I say... it's been a very long, very full month, and I am so tired I think that I may just fall over one of these days... but I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Just Jack

What's Up Grace?

Grace spotted a real live ladybug. Of course she had to show Baby Joy.

Grace can now put on her socks by herself (along with her pants and, with a little help, shirts).

She also likes to choose her clothes : )

Baby Lucy got put in time out. You can tell a lot about what your kid finds important from the way they play. This is how the conversation between Grace and Baby Lucy went...

Baby Lucy, you are in time out. I want you to stay there, and I will come back to get you in just a minute. (She leaves for a while and then comes back and sits down in front of Baby Lucy) Baby Lucy, do you know why you are in time out? (pause) You hit me in the head, didn't you? You're not supposed to hit me in the head. Are you going to obey now? (pause) Good. I need you to say "I'm sorry". (pause) Ok. Give me a hug. Now let's find something else to do.

Graces favorite color is green. Every day she wants to wear something green. The problem is she has only a couple of green summer outfits. The other day she really really wanted to try on her green fall outfits, so that's what we did! It was a lot of fun, and I was able to see all the pants that needed darts put in them and go ahead and get that taken care of. We are now ready for fall!

Architecture genes?

Such a happy happy girl!

Game day!

Brother and Sister

We all knew Grace would be a good big sister, but she has turned out to be a great big sister! My Dad said that when he got her up from her nap and told her that Jack had been born she said, "My baby brother was born! Finally! Yea!!!" and she started to jump up and down. She was more than a little excited to come to the hospital and meet him and have him come home. There really hasn't been any jealousy at all yet. We will see how that continues once all the grandparents go home : ) Also, she is still sleeping like a champ. I have even been able to get both kids naps to overlap for at least 45 minutes or so!

Jack has also been a great little brother so far. Talk about a relaxed kid. He had a little tummy trouble the first few days, but once we got him feeling better he has been pretty easy going. He loves to look at Grace and listen to her! She likes the attention too : ) He is pretty content to lay on the floor on sit in his bouncy seat in the living room with us during his awake time. I can't wait for the two kiddos to be able to interact a bit more!

Brother and Sister meet for the first time!

It did not take long for Grace to start helping out.

There is my brother!

He has teeny tiny hands!

Upon coming home, Grace got Jack his blanket, her blanket, all the small stuffed animals she could find and his paci.
