Holy Week 2014

It's Holy Week! Yay!

I had been throwing myself a little pitty party after being on my own with the kids all last weekend (again) and thinking about how it seems like all I do is cook and clean and feed and repeat... And that is taking all I've got... When I talked to the kids about how Holy Week was upon us. We were on our way to church and the kids went WILD! "YAY! Holy Week is my favorite!" Holy Week is the best!" "We get to make the Easter nativity and tear up the paper chains and sing songs!"

I was shocked! So it turns out that the kids DO care when I put forth the extra effort to make traditions and holidays special! I guess The Lord knew I needed that encouragement, and I'm so thankful he gave it to me and pulled me out of the hole I was digging myself. So Holy Week is in full swing here with all of our (now) favorite family traditions!

Things will be tweaked a bit for sure, but now that I've got a system and some traditions put together I can really enjoy the holiday too without much planning!

Easter Lunch at SHM

All of the parents of Kindergardeners were invited to eat a special Easter lunch in the cafeteria today! We had a great time sitting with grace and some of her friends.

We all bought lunches. The menu was ham, yams, cabbage, cornbread and coconut sheet cake...And of course a carton of milk. :) I am so thankful that The Lord provided this school, teacher, principal, classmates and great class parents this year. I don't know what the future will hold, but know he has definitely always been gracious with us and our children.

Some Sunday Pictures!

The Number 1 Tooth

Grace has FINALLY lost a tooth! This is just about the biggest deal ever in the world of a Kindergardener! She was SO happy to have joined the lost tooth club. I was thankful that Jonathan showed extreme patience and level headedness with this particular life event. Let's just say there was a little anxiety and a few tears shed before the process was completed.

And now tooth #2 is pretty wiggly too!

Reading with Jack

Jack chose to read the illustrated acoustic guitar encyclopedia one morning.

He thought David Bowie really looked like scut Farkus from A Christmas Story! Ha!

Baby Benjamin Months 2,3 and 4

Well, I haven't been able to document as much as I want lately. Three kids leaves not much free time for things like this. There is ALWAYS laundry to fold or sleep to catch up on! So I will try to document a little and give an update on this sweet little one who just keeps on growing up and changing every day!

Benjamin's 2 month stats:

Weight: 10lb 14oz (20%)
Height: 22 1/2" (25%)
Head 38 1/2 cm (30%)

He ate about every 2-1/2-3 hrs and slept maybe one 4-5 he stretch at night. He was super happy and could roll from tummy to back. He smiled and bath time was his favorite. He was a little fussy in the evenings.

When he was 3 months old Benjamin started sleeping more at night (YAY!). He still ate about every 2-1/2-3 hrs during the day but would go to sleep at 8 or 9 and have a dream feed at 10:30 and sleep till 5 and then 8. Also, the sun started to come out, the weather started to warm up and we heard less about stomach bugs and flu. So we started to go outside which was GREAT! He began to "talk" up a storm and started drooling like crazy!

Now this sweetie pie is 4 months old!

Here are his stats:

Weight: 13lb 10.5oz (20%)
Height: 24 3/4in (30%)
Head: 16 1/4 (40%)

He is still the happiest, most easy going and content baby ever. He eats about every 3 hrs during the day, takes mostly shorter naps except for a long one after lunch (the same time as Jack) and goes to bed at 8 with a dream feed at 10 and then will sleep till 6-6:30 and then again to 8. He is almost rolling from his back to tummy, loves being outside, loves his big sister most of all (especially when she jumps and spins for him), coos and blows bubbles all day, is grabbing things, chewing things, facing out in the baby Bjorn, spitting up everywhere, wearing a size 2 diaper, and even went on his first road trip to Birmingham. He was a great traveling baby! He is such a delight and we are SO thankful for him!
