Yesterday

I let the kids sit in the front seat while I backed the car down the driveway. Boy, did they think that was the most awesome thing ever...

I realize they don't look so excited in the picture, but they truly were. It was not sarcasm.

Then they rode bikes and toys for a good solid hour in the driveway. We have a very good racing driveway too... Long and straight.


Now we just need to work on jacks peddling endurance and steering techniques. Good goals for the spring!

Today Grace Said:

You know, I really just don't like Frosted Mini Wheats as much as Froot Loops.... Really, the only part I really like is the sugary icing stuff on the top. I don't really like the stuff below that. You know, the brown stuff... The stuff where it's all going straight up and down and then it's not. Yeah, that stuff isn't very good to me.... I try to eat just the white sugar stuff off the top, but I can't ever get just that stuff off. I always end up getting those brown twiggy things too, and I just don't really like that part.

Ice Skating

Last Saturday we were ice skating in Arkansas. This Saturday the kids wanted to skate in the living room. Although not as neat as "for real" skating, we did play some great music and had a fabulous time!

And we were all much less wet and cold and sore when the event was over.

Swim Lessons

There's nothing like a nice morning swim after breakfast... On the bed... With your sibling... And your bear...

For pretend, of course.

Tweedle and The Horse

We made hand puppets yesterday.

Jack chose to make a horse. He called it "horse".

Grace chose to make a blue bird. She called it "Tweedle".



This is what my dining table looked like after the great creations.


Then we had a puppet show.



It lasted about 3.75 minutes.



Then it was nap time.

Grace made a nest for Tweedle and put 5 "eggs" under him. They will hatch in 3 months. Tweedle can take short walks during the day though until the eggs hatch.



Until then, he has a very nice view out of the window in her room.
