Connect Four

Instead of cleaning Wednesday morning Jack and I ate a long breakfast (he cheese toast and me a fried egg sandwich and coffee) and played his version of connect four. Chores got done eventually and it was a nice way to spend time in the morning!

10 Weeks

Aunt MA and the Olympics Visit

The week after the frigid temps it thawed out a bit and Mary Allison came for a visit!

We were glad it warmed up so much.

We spent time outside every day !

Benjamin was still being cute.

Mary Allison even brought her hold medal to graces class and talked about the Paralympics .

That's pretty awesome show and tell in my opinion.

We also did some special stuff like get frozen yogurt.

What a fun week!

Winter weather days

A couple of weeks ago we had a little icy weather that was just bad enough to keep grace home from school for a couple of days. I was SO thankful that we did not loose power and we enjoyed our fun days in our cozy house. :)

The boys watched it begin to snow from Benjamin's room.

The next morning grace got to stay in her footies and snuggle her baby brother.

Then it was Narnia play time with king peter and Queen Susan.

During naptime grace helped me make dumplings for dinner. My oh my how I've missed having this helper around during the day.

Then our friends came over for a tea party and it started snowing! Sweet Caroline kept yelling Snow!

We let the kids play in outside for a while of course.

Benjamin was a good mapper and was super cuddly and snuggly all the time.

He even started smiling and cooing a bit.

The next morning was hot chocolate and games! Fun times!

Followed by the adventures of Pippi Longstocking!

And some more of this sweet little bit.

It was a FANTASTIC winter weather surprise!!!

Siblings

Grace: who do you want to play with today little Benjamin

Ben: yoooou.

:)

Jack: wook mom! He's holding my hand! Benjamin's holding my hand!

Bathing Beauty

I just can't et enough of this bubbly bathing baby Benjamin boy. :)

It's an Overalls Kind of Day

Tell Me About It!

Benjamin is just a talking and cooing and gurgling away at us all lately. It is Sooooo endearing!

After School Activities

It doesn't get better than a lollipop and a trip through the car wash when you're 5 or 3 or 2 months old and taking a nap.

Tonight my children said:

My children are very concerned that they won't be able to live together forever. They want to live at home forever and never grow up. They think getting married to each other is the way to ensure this. I keep telling them it's not an option. This is our serious "I'm stalling bedtime by having a conversation" conversation from tonight...

Me: you have to marry someone who isn't already in your family.

Jack: but why?

Me: that's just how God made us. He gave us those rules in the Bible because they are best for us.

Grace: I know how God made Adam and Eve!

Me: yes! Your catechism!

Together: We sing the little song about God making Adam and Eve and quote the scripture.

Jack: what is a rib?

Me: it's one of these bones right here in your side.

Grace: can we eat some ribs?

Me: no, not right now. You need to go to sleep.

Jack: my elbow is not made of bone it is made of cartilage.

Me: that's right. It's made of cartilage.

Grace: well, can we maybe have some water then? My throat is SO dry.

Me: yes, because you have been singing for an hour and not sleeping.

Brothers Watch The Snow Flurries

These two are just precious. Jack Nida has been extra super sweet since his little brother came along. An exclamation of "I just wuv my wittuw brudder!" Or "mom, I'm gwad we have a baby brudder" Is a regular conversation starter around here. We are blessed for sure!

And it even snowed a few more flurries today. The boys watched together from Benjamin's room. Jack was so excited that I let him hold Benjamin. (He's had a cold this week and I've made him stay away a lot since it seems like every kid we know has rsv.)

Sweet memories with my sweet boys!

There was an old lady... And an old man

Grace had to dress up like a 100 year old for her 100th day of school. Jack wanted to join in as well.

Grace had the act down pat from the get go. Jack needed a little coaching ...

That's more like it, Jack .

He literally leaned in to ask her to smell his breath. She said "Eeeeeewwww !"

The 100 year old Grace:

Today Grace Wrote

This sweet note about her good friend Lola.

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this. I kept thinking about the line in Steel Magnolias the "hair do hall of fame". We have a southern lady on our hands, y'all.

Mornin', Pirate

This morning Jack had a pancake with strawberry jam.

Then he had some coffee milk.

And then he made pirate faces

And then we watched his favorite movie, The Sword in the Stone.

He has been sick for a couple of days, and although I'm pretty sure he was feeling near 100% today, we went ahead and had another pj morning anyway.

Baby Face

Oh,my. This little one has my heart.

Napping

I had to wake this sweet kid up today. I love the way he sleeps...

A Lunchable Monday

This is an appropriate post to begin my re-entry into blog land.

I haven't blogged Benjamin's first 6 weeks.

Want to know what else I didn't do?

I didn't help with a big school event.

I didn't help with a shower I thought I would be able to.

I didn't have to cook for the month of January ( thanks to our wonderful church family !)

I didn't leave the baby for more than 1 hr.

And I DID approve this lunch..

Just go ahead and that to the list of things I said I would never do and have done... Gladly. After begging for a Lunchable all year, Grace is beyond thrilled! One (or 2) a week won't kill her... Or the grocery budget. ;-)

Welcome to life with three kids, folks!
