Evening Events

Mondays and Tuesdays are usually really hard days around our house. Jonathan typically works at least 12 hours, and after having him home all weekend this can be a big reality check for me and the kids as we have to adjust to being without him. So we have to sometimes get creative at the end of the day when everybody is tired and possibly a little cranky : )

So what did we do tonight?

We slid AND played hopscotch!

My kids love this game! It's pretty simple really. Here's how it goes... Grace gets on top of the slide and I put jack up there too. Then I let jack slide and grace follows. Then grace jumps on all the squares while we shout the numbers. Then jack has a turn to jump while grace jumps back towards the slide. Both kids end up meeting around number 5 and oh my, that is the most fun part! They both shriek and laugh so hard when they almost jump into each other! Then we do it again and again of course. I love love love that it is a way for them to play together... Makes it worth the sore back I get from bending over to help jack "jump" :-)

Well, after I pooped out on that game Grace played a little on her own. She found the phone and pretended to call daddy.

Apparently daddy had a big problem. He hit his toe on a lamp and didn't know how to fix it. What is a girl to do for a daddy in this situation?

I guess Grace took a cue from super why and decided to "Look in a book"... THE Book apparently. Grace looked up "feet" in the Bible to solve daddy's problem. Hmmmm.... Not so sure how that one worked out. But it was definitely entertaining, and we made it to bed time with no major meltdowns!!!

Welcome Back To Blogland

I am so glad that I figured out how to blog from my phone! (If I can figure out how to get the video uploader to work it will be even better!) But I think my posts will be a little different now. Since typing is a bit more labor intensive I wouldn't be expecting any long wordy posts. Instead I will try do do short posts with a couple of pictures or videos more often. Hopefully I will have a little bit to add each day... Whether it be a fun activity or a funny quip from Grace. The whole reason I started the blog was to keep our family updated on what is going on in our lives and to have a digital scrapbook of sorts for the kids. Hopefully this new system will work well and I will be back in the blogging world again!!!

There's an app 4 that

Ok. So maybe I should have thought of this several months ago, but it just hit me today... "there must be an app for that"! Blogger that is. So now its naptime and I can't wait to see if this works. If it does get ready blogging world cause I'm going to be back!!!

Another Little Note

Jack,
Apparently you didn't get my note from yesterday. See, I put you to bed at 10 but then you woke up 5 times before 8. I would really be a lot more fun to be around if you would let me get a little bit of rest. I am starting to feel physically ill from the sleep deprivation... And I'm pretty sure thats why I've been dizzy all day as well. So please please please do a better job tonight!
Love,
Your Momma

Grace thought you needed these stuffed animals when you woke up from your morning nap, so she put them into your bed with you. You seemed to agree.

Jack Rolls Over

Just for the record. Jack did this right after he turned 3 months. He only does it on rare occasion however. The child is not so much a fan of tummy time. He usually lasts about 5 min and then starts to scream at me to come rescue him... if only he would just roll over (like we all KNOW he can)! He would rather be siting up or standing up and looking around. Personally, I can't say I disagree.

Catching Up

So whats been going on the past few months since I last blogged? Well......

We have been coloring (still).

We listened to lots of the peanuts Christmas album!

Jack's ornament!

Grace turned 2-1/2

Love love love Jacks face in this one:)

Grace ate Cheetos for the first time. Here she is pretending her Cheeto is a phone.

These kids crack me up. Especially since G is talking non stop (still). She asked about the utters in the above picture, "Mommy, is that cow pooping or is it just the sun rise?" You can count on laughs like this all day at my house!

Still a super happy baby! But boy is he a challenge when it comes to the sleep department. Just one way he is NOT like is sis (who easily got on a schedule and slept thru the night at 7 weeks). I am ready for you to sleep little guy... it's been 4 1/2 months now... the sooner the better... just sayin. Love, your oh so exhausted momma.

This was in the car during our last pit stop at the end of our 2 day trip to LA. HA!

That's more like it, son.

Christmas Eve service with family : )

Christmas morning!

Jack Nida met Caleb Husser!

More driving... a Sonic Milkshake will buy you a good 30 more minutes of happy Grace.

New Years Eve with my baby boy!

New toys on the way home to GA.

Grace likes to take Jack on walks ; )

G riding her bike like a big girl!

I have 2 helpers in the kitchen now!!! What a blessed momma I am!!!

We got sleet... LOTS of sleet. Grace was NOT impressed. All she wanted to do was catch a snowflake on her tongue. When I took her outside it was raining. She said, "But Momma, I can't catch a raindrop on my tongue!"

All set with her easel and crayon apron :) She was drawing a picture of "Gracie". Gracie had a head, two eyes, a nose, two ears, some hair, a mouth, a paci, a blanket to wrap up with, a quilt to keep warm, a bed, some stuffed animals, and a Corduroy bear!

These 2 love - I mean LOVE- each other!

Grace and her "binoclears"

She made a "B" out of blocks one day!

Jack is now tall enough to reach the floor. After Christmas we had to put that box under his feet so he could reach!

First Lego tower... the best part of making a Lego tower... knocking it over when your done with it!
